Practical arrangements
Tuition
Tuition expenses are covered by both the full and partial course registration fee.
Accommodations and subsistence
In addition to course tuition, 6 nights bed & breakfast accommodations in double room in student dormitory facilities located in the vicinity of the Badia della Castagna and the Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital will be offered to all selected participants.
Registered participants wishing to upgrade to hotel standard accommodations will be able to do so, but will be asked to cover the difference in cost (approximately 70.00 US$ per night).
The fee cover light working lunches, as well as refreshment breaks, served at the venue on Saturday 20 and from Monday 22 through Thursday 25. Dinners, apart from officially organized events during the course, are not included and may be obtained at the Collegio Emiliani. Participants will be requested to specify in advance any special dietary needs/restrictions that the organizers should be aware of.
Participants should bear in mind that they must be prepared to cover incidental expenses (entertainment, excursions, restaurants, etc.) with their own means.
Local Transportation
For purposes of local transportation, course participants will be able to purchase a weekly bus pass (cost: € 12.00) that permits unlimited travel on metropolitan mass transit routes, including many local trains, from Monday through Sunday.
Insurance
While on premises where course sessions are held participants will be covered for personal liability insurance by the standing policy of the Giannina Gaslini Children's Research Hospital. Medical coverage will not be provided.
Participants should therefore be prepared with their own form of personal insurance (especially for medical purposes) in order to guarantee coverage when and where the Gaslini Hospital policy is not effective (i.e., while off course premises on evenings and weekends).
Travel Arrangements
Gaslini International will not be in the position to cover or refund participants' travel expenses. Applicants are therefore advised to guarantee coverage of their own round trip travel costs to and from Genova with their own means.
