Overview
Course venues
Classroom lessons, lectures and discussions will be held c/o the recently renovated Villa Quartara, Badia della Castagna in Genova Quarto, located within walking distance of the Giannina Gaslini Children's Teaching Hospital.
Any planned observation sessions will be conducted in the laboratories and wards of the Gaslini Hospital and affiliated structures.
Afternoon Keynote lectures will be held in the Lecture Hall (Aula Magna) of the Gaslini Hospital.
Course Materials
Copies of the presentations used by faculty during their lectures will be distributed to participants prior to lessons on a day-by-day basis.
The CD-Rom compiling all presentations made during the course, together with complementary materials, will be sent to participants once completed after the close of the course itself.
Course Language
All lectures, discussion sessions and materials will be in English. Applicants should therefore possess a very good working knowledge of the language in order to benefit from the courses.
Participants' Presentations
To foster a learning experience as interactive as possible, participants are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to deliver brief presentations (15 minutes maximum – 5 slides) on topics of their choice: their institutions/affiliations, personal experiences on matters tackled by the course curriculum, their ongoing research/clinical activities, etc.
Please submit a one-page abstract. Laptop and videobim will be available for your presentation.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Accreditation
Although specifically addressed to Italian participants, non-Italian participants should bear in mind that past Gaslini International residential training events have always received maximum Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation from the Italian CME Commission. It is hoped that participants will be able to transfer this accreditation or somehow utilise it once they have returned home.
Registered participants will be notified of the exact number of credits ultimately awarded as they become available.
